ESSENTIAL OILS FROM MADAGASCAR, EXHIBITED AT SIAL CANADA 2023
As a meeting point for agri-food industry professionals, SIAL Canada 2023 – the international trade fair for food – took place from May 9 to 11 in Toronto. The event gathered three (3) main sectors (SIAL Food, SIAL Grocerant and SIAL Packaging), with 800 exhibitors and 21,000 visitors from different countries.
Flora-of-Madagascar (FLORAMAD) has the opportunity to represent the GEHEM Gie (Group of essential oil exporters from Madagascar) in this 20th edition of SIAL Canada. During the 3 days of exhibitions, we had the chance to explore future opportunities to develop products from Madagascar. Moreover, it was the occasion to showcase a wide range of specific essential oils from Madagascar, specifically those that are used as key ingredients in the food industry (flavor). Take, for instance, fresh ginger, clove, cinnamon, black pepper, lemon eucalyptus, tumeric, …. which are highly solicited in the food industry.
We gratefully thank all our visitors, as well as our strategic partners (CamCham and PIC) for their precious supports in the preparation and realization of this event. We hope that the exchanges will lead to innovation and development projects for the essential oil sector in Madagascar.
